Hey, we spend a couple of comfortable nights in this very accommodating town. Of course we made the pilgrimage to Napoleons home. This has long since been converted in to a museum and a shrine of sorts for all things Bonaparte. Surprising amount of security measures but we were told that there are any number of attempts by Napoleon fadists that try and steal memorabilia no matter how small.

Yup, this is the death mask of Napoleon and is proudly displayed along with several others at the museum.

Ajaccio has its charms although it is a large and primarily a commercial port. Large commercial vessels and Cruise ships take pride of place in the harbour. The old fort, built in the 1500’s and improved in anticipation of use in the 1 world war, the structure never saw action and is largely abandoned today.
Making our way out of the harbour and on to our next anchorage….
